BACKGROUND
The Safer Sex in The Sticks (SSITS) project was developed to provided a broad community approach to reducing the transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STI's) in young people locally. The success of the SSITS project in Swan Hill was highly dependent on the local contribution and connection with young people. Strategies such as poster development provided oppotunity to educate young people along side partnering with them to educate others. The outstanding results raised the profile of both th talents of young people locally and also awareness of sexually transmitted infections, in particular, Chlamydia.
